As a father to an amazing 8-year-old son with a great deal of hair and a beautiful 2-year-old daughter, I know firsthand the feeling of wanting to confidently tackle their hair (especially when getting ready in the mornings.)

My wife (who did hair as a side hustle throughout college) has a variety of hairstyles in her arsenal, but I've always wanted to have a few go-to styles that I could master, as well. Turns out, many of my friends felt the same way!

That's why we’re so excited to bring you this dad’s-only hair care workshop.

Our hope is to empower more fathers to unlock this "superpower" and feel confident creating simple and stylish looks for our kids. Let's learn together!

The Dads Behind the Movement

Meet the Founders

Two dads who decided that not knowing how to care for their children's hair was not good enough, and built something so no father ever has to feel unprepared again.

"I have always wanted to have a few go-to styles I could master. Turns out, many of my friends felt the same way."

As a father to an amazing 8-year-old son with a great deal of hair and a beautiful 2-year-old daughter, Joseph knows firsthand the feeling of wanting to confidently tackle his kids' hair, especially during the morning rush.

His wife, who did hair as a side hustle throughout college, has a full arsenal of styles. Joseph always wanted a few go-to looks of his own to master. When he realized many of his friends felt the same way, Curl Dads was born.

"As men, we share career and financial advice openly. It is time we also normalize sharing how to part, braid, and care for our daughters' hair."

Prince is a proud Black father of two beautiful daughters, ages 16 and 10. As someone with no prior hair experience, he always wanted to be more helpful to his wife with day-to-day hair duties for their girls.

He used to worry about the days she would be away and he would be left figuring it out alone. Now he is turning that experience into an opportunity to learn and share with like-minded dads who understand the beauty and responsibility of raising daughters.

What We Stand For
Built on Three Beliefs

Hello, I’m Joseph Kollo, CoFounder

A family sitting on a white couch in front of decorated Christmas trees, with presents underneath and holiday decorations on the wall.

Hi, I’m Prince Williams, CoFounder

I’m a proud Black father of two beautiful daughters, ages 16 and 10. As a bald man with no experience in doing hair, I’ve always wanted to be more helpful to my wife with the day-to-day and week-to-week hair duties for our girls. I used to worry about the days she’d be away and I’d be left figuring it out on my own—wondering how I’d manage their hair and still get us all through the day. I’ve been searching for simple, go-to styles that can carry us through those moments and give me confidence as a girl dad who’s still learning.

As men, we openly share parenting tips, career advice, and financial wisdom—but it’s time we also normalize sharing advice on how to part, braid, and maintain a ponytail, or even style a bob if necessary. I’m excited for this opportunity to both learn and share with like-minded men who understand the beauty and responsibility of raising daughters.
