About the Workshop
Who is this workshop for?Q
This workshop is for fathers, guardians, and caregivers who serve as father figures and want to learn how to care for and style their children's natural curly hair. All dads are welcome and no prior hair styling experience is necessary.
What is the format of the workshop?Q
The workshop is 4 hours long. The first hour covers wash, prep, and detangling. The remaining three hours rotate through three styling stations led by expert stylists.

What will I learn?Q
You will leave knowing how to:
  • Properly wash, condition, and detangle curly hair
  • Prepare hair using leave-in conditioners and sealing methods (LOC and LCO)
  • Create Parts and Puffs (single and multiple)
  • Style Two-Strand Twists and Ponytails
  • Lay down basic Cornrows
  • Apply products and maintain healthy curly hair
Do I need any prior hair styling experience?Q
None at all. This workshop is designed for complete beginners. Our instructors start with the basics and guide you through each step at a comfortable pace.
Who are the instructors?Q
The workshop is led by experienced hair stylists who specialize in natural curly hair. They are dedicated to providing clear, simple, and encouraging instruction to help you master these techniques with confidence.
Attending the Workshop
Do I need to bring my child?Q
Your child is welcome but not required. All practice is done on mannequin heads with curly hair, which are provided. If your child attends, we will have a kid-centered area available.
Is there an age limit for children who attend?Q
There is no strict age limit, but please consider that the workshop is 4 hours long. Children who attend should be comfortable occupying themselves quietly during practice time.
What materials do I need to bring?Q
Just yourself. Everything is provided including spray bottles, wide-tooth combs, styling brushes, hair clips, sectioning tools, mannequin heads with curly hair, and product samples.
Will I get to practice the styles myself?Q
Yes. This is a hands-on workshop. You will have ample time to practice every technique on dedicated mannequin heads under direct guidance from our instructors.
Will product recommendations be provided?Q
Yes. Instructors will discuss product types and recommend effective options for various curly hair textures. You will also receive a printed handout with recommendations to take home.

What is the cost?Q
$59 per participant. All materials, product samples, and printed handouts are included.

What is the cancellation policy?Q
We have a strict no-refund policy because materials are purchased specifically for each participant. Cancellations may be transferred to another participant or a future workshop date, subject to availability.

  • A: While your child is welcome to attend with you, the hands-on practice will be done on mannequin heads with curly hair, which will be provided. This allows you to focus on learning the techniques without worrying about your child's patience or comfort level for the full 4 hours. If your child attends, please ensure they have a quiet activity or are comfortable observing. We will also have a kid-centered area, as well.

  • A: The workshop is 4 hours long. The first hour is a foundational session for all participants, covering wash, prep, and detangling. The following three hours are divided into workshops (with breaks,) where you'll spend time at each of our three styling stations (Parts & Puffs, Two-Strand Twists & Ponytails, Cornrows) led by expert stylists.

  • A: While children are welcome, please consider that the workshop is 4 hours long and primarily focused on adult learning with mannequin heads. If your child attends, they should be able to occupy themselves quietly during practice times, but we will have an area just for them, as well!
