Our story

We show up for everything. Hair day too.

CurlDads started with two dads in the DMV who wanted a turn on hair day, and a lot of friends who said, "Me too."

"I wanted a few go-to styles of my own."

I'm a father to a son with a whole lot of hair and a three-year-old daughter. I know the feeling of wanting to handle their hair with confidence, especially on a rushed school morning.

My wife did hair as a side hustle all through college and has a style for every occasion. I just wanted a few I could do well. When I brought it up with friends, a lot of them said the same thing. So we built the class we were looking for.

"A girl dad who's still learning."

I'm a proud father of two daughters, ages 16 and 10. As a bald man with no hair experience, I've always wanted to be more helpful to my wife with the day-to-day and week-to-week hair duties for our girls.

I used to worry about the days she'd be away and I'd be figuring it out alone. Now I get to learn alongside other dads who understand the beauty and responsibility of raising daughters.

As men, we share career and money advice openly. It's time we also share how to part, braid, and keep a ponytail neat.Prince Williams

What we believe

Hair time is together time.

Judgment-free, hands-on, and built for beginners.

Confidence

Every dad should be able to sit his child down and know what to do next. That starts with a comb in your own hand.

Connection

Twenty minutes in the chair is twenty minutes of talking, laughing, and trust. Kids remember who did their hair.

Community

No dad should figure this out alone. We learn in a room together and swap tips long after the workshop ends.

As a father to an amazing 8-year-old son with a great deal of hair and a beautiful 2-year-old daughter, I know firsthand the feeling of wanting to confidently tackle their hair (especially when getting ready in the mornings.)

My wife (who did hair as a side hustle throughout college) has a variety of hairstyles in her arsenal, but I've always wanted to have a few go-to styles that I could master, as well. Turns out, many of my friends felt the same way!

That's why we’re so excited to bring you this dad’s-only hair care workshop.

Our hope is to empower more fathers to unlock this "superpower" and feel confident creating simple and stylish looks for our kids. Let's learn together!

Hello, I’m Joseph Kollo, CoFounder

A family sitting on a white couch in front of decorated Christmas trees, with presents underneath and holiday decorations on the wall.

Hi, I’m Prince Williams, CoFounder

I’m a proud Black father of two beautiful daughters, ages 16 and 10. As a bald man with no experience in doing hair, I’ve always wanted to be more helpful to my wife with the day-to-day and week-to-week hair duties for our girls. I used to worry about the days she’d be away and I’d be left figuring it out on my own—wondering how I’d manage their hair and still get us all through the day. I’ve been searching for simple, go-to styles that can carry us through those moments and give me confidence as a girl dad who’s still learning.

As men, we openly share parenting tips, career advice, and financial wisdom—but it’s time we also normalize sharing advice on how to part, braid, and maintain a ponytail, or even style a bob if necessary. I’m excited for this opportunity to both learn and share with like-minded men who understand the beauty and responsibility of raising daughters.
